Evidence of Son Light

2013-07-23 06.20.36One of my favorite biblical sayings is “Freely you have received, freely give”. Two immediate questions come to my mind when hearing that passage. The first is, what was given to me for free and the second is have I ever charged any person for that thing given to me for free. We humans of the western free market culture have a peculiar mindset that knows no bounds when it comes to selling stuff. Our sense of justice is a trade in which we received something and sell it at a higher value. It is then culturally considered a sign of good stewardship if you make a profit and even unjust to just break even.

So what have we been given for free? I believe that God is universal in His gifts to humankind which is easily seen in His distribution of rain and sunlight.  Everyone on earth experiences the light of the sun. Those on the equator and at the poles have a slightly different experience but the majority of earthlings live between those extremes. Astronauts who have left the planet have a totally different experience than us earthlings that are bound to this planet. Yet it is still safe to say that all humans have freely received light from the sun.

It is also safe to say that all humans have also freely received the Spiritual Light of God’s evidence through His Son Jesus. Passing that evidence on to others should be a free gift we give to others. However like rain water it has become very popular to charge a fee for the redistribution of that which has been freely given. This is unjust because it limits the return on God’s Spiritual investment. God’s spiritual goal is for all humans to become saturated in His Presences and our human goal is to sustain the human distribution process. The conflict I see is that God is trying to awake His Spiritual Kingdom in as many as possible and humans are building a material support system to help those that claim to be in the Kingdom.

Matthew 26:8-10 But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”  10 But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me.11 For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.

John 6:10-12 Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples[a] to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. 12 So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.”

Luke 12:46-48 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.47 And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.48 But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

I would suggest that since God is Spirit the investment that He will account for will also be spirit. This is not to suggest the investments in material should not be accounted for. However after we have been awaken what is most important is the Spiritual return on investment.  To gain the material world, or build bigger barns to hold material goods may not be the most important focus of God’s accountability.

I offer this posting as an encouragement for us to take the opportunity to verify that Spirit and not material is the focus of our lives. If we seek first that which is of Spirit then our faith tells us that the material will be added. If we focus on the material first we should not be surprise when we do not reap of the Spirit. As we re-read scripture we need to do so with a focus on the spirit.

Most of the material examples in scripture are there to communicate spiritual principles and concepts. However if we just focus on the obvious material object described in the letter of the word we will be rewarded only with a return on our material investment. Jesus was a free Spiritual investment planted in human form, and when God comes for an account on His investment, He will be focused on the return of His spiritual investment.

Luke Chapter 19 The Parable of the Minas

11 Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately. 12 Therefore He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.13 So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas,[b] and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’

15 “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.16 Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’18 And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’19 Likewise he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities.’

20 “Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief.21 For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’22 And he said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow.23 Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’

24 “And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.’25 (But they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas.’)26 ‘For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.27 But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me.’”

God Authenticates His Evidence

Water DropsAs vessels of God’s Presence we carry what is known as self authenticating evidence. This type of evidence is defined as evidence that “ is so trustworthy that it doesn’t require a witness. These forms of evidence are inherently reliable, and are deemed to be “self-authenticating.” Healing, miracles, walking on water, quieting storms multiplying food and raising the dead are evidence that would fall into this category.

As we learn to move in this realm we must be very careful because these events can make us and the people around us react in unpredictable ways. From the perspective of the believer being used of God, the production of such evidence is all about the condition of ones heart as it relates to God. Will that heart remain humble and give thanks for the opportunity to witness such evidence or will it become prideful and take credit as the source or channel for God’s evidence. I have come to define humility as having the correct understanding of who God can be in and through us.  Jesus said:

John 5:30 I can of Myself do nothing. …

John 14:10but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

Luke 6:40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.

The best that is humanly possible is to live like Jesus by becoming a vessel or a channel in this earth realm that allows God’s Spirit to freely operate. Since God is infinite, that means He can manifest in 8 billion different ways which is a way through each and every human on this planet. Inside each of us is the reality of God’s Kingdom. But not until we have been awakened and remain conscious of this reality can we exercise our free will to allow God to freely work through us. This is the difference between the spiritually minded and the materially minded.

Jesus was credited with restoring sight to a person who was blind from birth. That is simply self (God) authentication in action. The same Spirit that is in Jesus also resides in us. If only we can catch this vision and let go of our training as sons of and daughters of Adam, we could begin to operate like Jesus as children of God.

The first step is for us to believe that what Luke 6:40 is implying is possible in our life. Then the next step is to become immersed in the red letters of the bible. My suggestion is to take a year or two and read only those verses over and over again. Then begin to contemplate and imagine yourself in the role of Jesus walking in the earth realm. Set you religion aside and begin to view your relationship with God and the people of earth just as if you were Jesus.

It is my encouragement that we are able to contact God who lives inside of us and then develop the relationship to a point where God is literally revealing Himself as us. Even though I am not there yet one day I want to be able to say like Jesus “if you see me you see the Father”. I hope people become confused and they say “isn’t that the IT geek that is in the cube down the hall? How did he heal you?  Where is he?”

We humans were born for so much more that we understand or can imagine. So let us, let go and let God live through us.

John 9:1-12 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

8 Therefore the neighbors and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, “Is not this he who sat and begged?”

9 Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.”

He said, “I am he.

10 Therefore they said to him, “How were your eyes opened?”

11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.”

12 Then they said to him, “Where is He?”

He said, “I do not know.”

Are You An Embassy Without Walls?

2013-07-07_1098911_67628863Crime Scene Investigators primarily use their powers of observation to provide context for the evidence they collect. First responders are trained to preserve the state of the crime scene evidence by setting up a perimeter until investigators can collect the evidence. In some cases for prolonged investigations crime scene tape and police seals stand guard to protect the evidence for longer periods of time.

Likewise walls and fences around an embassy stand guard to protect the valuable evidence of the sovereign territory contained within the walls. To the persons on the outside the evidence may hold a value of life or death, granting them due process under a different set of laws, which may give them safety from harm. All that stands between them is the wall, fence and guards.

The US Embassies around the world use specially trained Marines and a corps of diplomats who understand these articles of evidence. These articles include passports, flag orders, diplomatic documents, vehicle license plates, classified documents and the like.  Anyone on the outside of the wall in possession of one of the articles may use it to gain access to the full measure of sovereignty represented by that country inside embassy wall.

Mark 1:14-15 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

Matthew 10:7-8 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Daughters and Sons of God are embassies of God’s Kingdom. They are representatives of mankind who are consciously aware of what we carry on the inside and they have removed the walls so that any human they encounter may freely access the sovereignty of the Kingdom they carry on the inside.  Unlike man-made kingdoms any person can run up to an embassy of God’s kingdom and claim asylum and a true citizen will grant immunity, safety, justice in the form of reconciliation, adoption and forgiveness.

Matthew 7:5-7 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. 6 “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces. 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

In my opinion one of the big mistakes some religious systems make when they try to get people to recognize the value of what they carry by placing a wall around it. Provoking people through jealously is a tactic that God used but He never made it harder to acquire the His Kingdom and His sovereignty.

I believe the orthodox interpretation of the scripture that says do not “cast your pearls before swine” has been wrongly applied and taken out of its context, not that I have the full understanding. But when you look at the two scriptures that surround verse 6 of Matthew 7 the goal of a Kingdom diplomat remains to give away what is Holy to those outside of the Kingdom freely making them members of our Father’s Kingdom of which we all were once strangers and in some ways still remain estranged.

Like police tape, the bible has preserved the scene of Jesus ministry and reveals the context in which He dispensed reconciliation, adoption and forgiveness from our Father in heaven. As disciples of Jesus we are commanded to likewise make disciples of all that we meet. Because all that we have to give is what is on the inside and if we put walls and fences around that then how effective will we be. We are called to freely give away what we have freely received.

But wrongly many believe they paid a price for their relationship with God’s Presence and so they feel the need to exact a price instead of giving away what they consider valuable.  However this leads to bad valuations of what God paid as a price. From a human perspective that value could vary with as many people who received the gift of His Presence. But we must remember that Jesus died because no human on earth at the time of His death could truly understand the value of our Father’s Gift to humanity. Even today some would limit the value of God’s Presence for themselves and their friends.  So the question still remains, did Jesus truly die for every human?

One of the reasons we fence in the US Embassy is to keep citizens of a foreign country from just running up and requesting asylum. If this were not the case our country would grow, we would have to extend benefits to these new citizens and the host country could become destabilized. What human would not want be a citizen of the most powerful nation on the planet. However if we wall in the sovereignty, freedom, power and blessing of God’s Kingdom then we miss the point of our citizenship.  Jesus was not only just sent to make the kingdom known, He was also sent to make the Kingdom available.

The truth of spiritual reality is that there is death outside the walls of God’s Kingdom. And unfortunately there are people and organizations that would have you and the rest of the human population to remain outside of God’s Kingdom. But God’s plan continues to send out Sons and Daughters who are conscious of who they are so they can offer His Kingdom and increase the number of Daughters and Sons who in turn are also willing to go out.  So I encourage us all too freely give away that which we have been freely given.

Matthew 21:33-40 “Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country.34 Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit.35 And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another.36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them.37 Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’38 But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’39 So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him.

40 “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?”

Romans 8:16-17  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Gal 3:28-29  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
